Hard Fought Victory

We finally did it. After a week or so of trying out different cups (some of which were heaved at us or the floor, Zach finally found one that he really likes. He is done with the bottle! Woo Hoo!

Natalie's Field Day

Zach and I went to Natalie's field day at school yesterday. She was so excited to have her daddy and her little brother there. They played all sorts of fun games. It was fun!

Sleep Study News

So back down to DE we went down today and met with the ENT who, although he considers Zach's apnea to be abnormal and high, isn't convinced surgery is needed right now. He is hoping Zach will grow out of it. This means another check up in 6 months, unless he gets worse. Although he still snores heavily (my little bear), he's been sleeping through the night for awhile now. Hopefully that will continue and his snoring will cease, too!

Zach's Stats

Hello all! At 12 months...weighing 24.2 pounds (70th percentile), standing tall at 31 3/4 inches (97th percentile), our boy is doing great! He's starting whole milk- but maybe tomorrow. Mommy needs one more night of snuggle time with the night bottle. I never thought I'd be so apprehensive about him not taking a bottle anymore...but it brings a tear to my eye. Has anyone else felt that way?

2 more days until the ENT checkup...

Here's a picture of him being silly.

He's Popeye the sailor man!

Happy Birthday to Zach.

It was one year ago today that our baby was born!!! Wow this year has gone by fast! I will post 12 pictures from the last twelve months later on today.

Sleep Study Update

I finally received a call with results from Zach's sleep study. He has obstructive apnea, which means something is blocking his airway when he sleeps and it "definitely causes him to wake up" (I have an answer!). They consider 1 a high level for apnea; his was a 7 (not really sure what this means, but 7 is pretty far from 1 so I'm concerned). The good news is that he's not losing oxygen or ingesting carbon dioxide. We have a follow up appointment with his ENT on May 21st and will hopefully find out what happens next. I'm thinking positive that they will tell me he will grow out of it and he won't need his adenoids or tonsils removed!

I'll keep you updated!
